Logistics, VC Offa win Legacy Volleyball Championship

It was jubilation at the indoor sports hall of the National Stadium, Lagos, following the victories of Logistics Spikers Volleyball Club and Volleyball Club, Offa, at the 2022 Legacy Volleyball Championship.

The sixth edition of the tournament aimed at accelerating volleyball development in Lagos, was organised by chairperson, Legacy Volleyball Club, Kayode Ladele, with support from Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC).

It was an interesting encounter between the Team Legacy and Logistics, with Logistics losing the first set before snatching a 3-1 win from the hosts.

Offa Ladies were the champions in the women category, as they maintained their winning streak from the group phase, knocking out Legacy 3-0 in the semifinals before their 3-1 (25-23,22-25-, 25-20,25-18) final triumph over Elite.

Legacy and Elites went home with N500,000 each after finishing as first-runners up in the men and women events.

Commenting on the championship, Director General Lagos State Sports Commission, Oluwatoyin Gafaar, said the beauty of volleyball has been witnessed and what the players demonstrated has shown that the game is improving beyond doubt.

Chairperson, Legacy Volleyball Club, Kayode Ladele, said that the essence of the competition is to raise players and teams that can compete successfully internationally.
