BARCELONA head coach Luis Enrique believes Lionel Messi is now completely injury-free following his return to action against Real Madrid on Saturday.

The Argentine forward came off the bench in the Clasico to make his first appearance since getting injured in September, and he enjoyed a jubilant comeback as Barca romped to a 4-0 victory at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Ahead of today’s Champions League tie with Roma at Camp Nou, Luis Enrique erased any doubts that Messi would be held back due to not being fully fit.

“He is back fit and this is a joy for us – to see the greatest player back again and now we get to enjoy him,” he told reporters.

“Messi has fully recovered, he is already in the right frame of mind and his injury is forgotten. He has to recover his muscle tone and his form, but you have to play to recover that.”
