Nedum Onuoha tells Tammy Abraham to follow his heart to Super Eagles

Warri-born Queens Park Rangers defender, Nedum Onuoha, has advised Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham to follow his heart if the Super Eagles come calling.

Nigeria is willing to draft the young striker who has scored eight goals in eleven starts this campaign to the Super Eagles. And Onuoha who will be playing against the red-hot striker, currently on loan at Bristol on Tuesday night in the English Football League, said he should consider playing for Nigeria.

“I’d heard of him before he went to Bristol City but he has certainly had a hot start – let’s see what he’s about,”
Onuoha, who himself rejected the Super Eagles in 2010 said.

“I don’t know Tammy personally, I might know him a bit better after Tuesday, but it has to be his decision.

“If that is something that he wants to do – and that is in his blood – and it is the right thing to do, then he will do it. And I am sure he will do very well.

“But if it’s not in his heart then there’s no point in trying to force people to do things they don’t want to do.

Nigeria’s FA chief Amaju Pinnick is also keen for the Tammy to join ranks with young stars such as Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho who both play for Arsenal and Manchester City respectively.

Pinnick believed that his relationship with Tammy’s father would help attract the youngster to the Super Eagles in spite of him being already capped for England’s U-21 side.
