Nigeria to face Brazil in Four-Nation U-17 Invitational
Nigeria’s U-17 side, Golden Eaglets, will open their account at the Suwon International Tournament in Korea against their Brazilian counterparts on June 10, the organizers have revealed.
The Nigeria-Brazil encounter, which is the second match of the day, would kick off at 6:00pm local time (10:00 am in Nigeria), while home side, Korea’s Junior Tadjeu Warriors would have the honour of kicking off the Four-Nation Invitational against USA at 3:00pm (7:00 am in Nigeria).
Two days later, the Golden Eaglets would then face the Junior Tadjeu Warriors while the Brazilians would face the Americans in the competition that Coach Emmanuel Amuneke insists will be a good test for his newly recruited players.
“The Four-Nation Invitational is really good for us as it would further expose the players to competitions against teams that we could meet at the World Cup in Chile,” stated the former African Footballer of the Year.
Golden Eaglets would face off against Team America in their final match, while Korea would trade tackles with Brazil. This is the second time Nigeria would be participating in an invitational tournament in Korea after their previous appearance on their way to winning the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2007 in the same country.
