Nigeria’s Samson Plans To Shine At African Skate Games In Cairo

Nigeria’s Omotosho Samson is set to begin his quest to put the country on the continental map when he opens his campaign at the second African Skate Games in Cairo, Egypt.
Skaters will participate in African Skateboarding Championship, African Inline Speed Championships, African Inline Freestyle Championships, African Rink Hockey Championship, African Inline Downhill Championships, and African Freestyle Roller Championship.
Samson, who is Nigeria’s sole representative will be competing in the senior category of the Inline Freestyle Championship, has promised to raise the country’s flag in the land of the Pharaohs. The Inline Freestyle Championship is one of the tournaments at the games.
The Roller Sports Federation of Nigeria athlete has left the country for the games, which started on Wednesday and will end tomorrow.
Interestingly, this will be his first outing at the multi-level competition but he says he has what it takes to make a podium finish at the games.
In a statement signed by the Secretary of the RSFN, Philip Oyede, he said travelling expenses for the athletes was raised with support of the President, Joseph Evah and other motivated individuals.
Nine countries including Ghana, Benin Republic, who have 13 athletes at the championship, as well as the hosts Egypt, are featuring at the five-day event.
