No Imo athlete was disqualified, we play by rules, says Okonkwo

The Imo State Commissioner for Sports Emeka Okonkwo has declared that none of the state’s athletes was thrown out of the ongoing 7th National Youth Games on account of age discrepancies
  
The commissioner, who spoke with journalists in Asaba said that Team Imo athletes and officials play by the rules governing the competition and wouldn’t succumb to such a foul play.
  
He noted that the Governor of the State Sen. Hope Uzodinma has motivated the contingent enough to expect a good result from all of them in Asaba.
  
On sports development in Imo State, Okonkwo said there is massive growth in sports in the state.
   
He stressed that the progress by Heartland FC and Grasshoppers Handball team, both in Imo. are making in various competitions in and outside Imo.
  
Okonkwo noted that Imo athletes in Asaba would be received with a handshake when they victoriously return from the National Youth Games in Asaba.
  
“If the Governor could receive Super Falcons players, who wvere not from Imo State, he would do more for the Imo NYG contingent,” he stated.
