
DEFENDING champions, NNPC, began their campaign to retain the football event trophy of the on-going Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry Games on a winning note by defeating Team PTI 2-0 in the opening match of the competition.
The match, played at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere Lagos yesterday, saw NNPC scoring in each half of the thrilling encounter to carry the day.
In the second match of the day, Chevron spanked a 10-man but hard fighting ExxonMobil team by a lone goal, with Uche getting the goal in the 65th minute.
In today’ first match, PTI will attempt to redeem their chances in the tournament as they take on NCDMB in the first match, which kicks off by 8.30 a.m. at the Legacy Pitch.
The second game will see ExxonMobil battling NLNG, while Shell and Agip will confront each other in a battle for the leadership of Group C.
