Master Okiki Abiodun, Opeyemi Abiodun and Ajirotutu Toluwalase at the weekend emerged winners in the ages 13 to 18 years children race of the Cycling Lagos held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.

While Okiki triumphed in the senior boy’s category, Opeyemi won the junior boys category, as Ajirotutu Toluwalase came tops in the female version.

Various prizes were given at the occasion, which precedes the August 25 date of the Cycling Lagos international events.

Speaking at the occasion, the Chairman, Cycling Lagos, Mr. Soji Adeleye, said the children’s event was necessary to create cycling culture among the kids and prepare them for future events on the global stage.

“Aside promoting cycling culture among the children at early stage, the Cycling Lagos Children Race is aimed at grooming children, who would grow up to represent the country at international cycling events,” he said.

Over 1,000 cyclists are expected to be involved in the main event from within and outside the country.

The competition is seen as one of the biggest sports, tourism and entertainment events in the country and the entire African continent in recent time.
