Maduka Okoye has been called up to the Super Eagles ahead of this month’s international friendly games against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.
Okoye’s invitation was announced on the Super Eagles X handle on Wednesday.
Okoye was not in the initial 25-man squad released by head coach Jose Peseiro for the two games.
His late call-up could be due to Adebayo Adeleye’s inability to catch a flight from Israel to Portugal no thanks to the current situation in that region.
The last time Okoye was invited to the Super Eagles was in an international friendly game against Portugal on 17 November, 2022.
He was on the bench as the Super Eagles were hammered 4-0 by the Portuguese, who used the game as part of preparations for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Meanwhile, 20 players are already in the Super Eagles camp for the friendly games.
