Olisa Agbakoba Wins BOA Lawyers League
OLISA Agbakoba & Co. last weekend at the AstroTurf 2000, Ikoyi, Lagos, defeated Probitas/B. Ayorinde 2-1 to win the 2015 Bankole Olumide Aluko (BOA) Memorial Football competition, also known as the Lawyers League.
The game, which had ended goalless in regulation and added time, was settled through the penalty lottery. In the shoot out, Olisa Agbakoba scored two goals to Probitas/B. Ayorinde’s one to win the title.
Earlier in the third place game, Tayo Oyetibo/Bayo Osipitan walloped Aluko & Oyebode by 3-0 with Deji Fasheun, Tola Ogunlewe (two) accounting for the goals.
The competition, played on Sundays, saw some of the biggest law firms in the country displaying uncommon football artistry to the admiration of fans at the Astroturf2000.
To qualify for the semifinals, Olisa Agbakoba beat Aluko & Oyebode 3-0, while Probitas/B. Ayorinde defeated Tayo Oyetibo/Bayo Osipitan 2-1.
The Bankole Olumide Aluko Football Tournament (BOA), also known as Lawyers’ League, is held in memory of the late lawyer, Bankole Olumide Aluko, a founding partner in the law firm of Aluko & Oyebode, who passed on 13 years ago.
