As part of its contributions to the development of Nigerian football from the grassroots, Olympic Milk has begun moves to unearth talented youth players from across the country using the strenuous, but rewarding five-aside soccer format.

The competition, supported by some of the icons of the game, including former Super Eagles’ star, Victor Ikpeba, will afford the youths the opportunity to earn some money, as well as travel to watch an English Premiership game courtesy of the sponsors.

Speaking yesterday while unveiling the programme for the second edition of the championship, Category Marketing Manager, Nutricima, Ralph Agbaje, revealed that the competition was inspired by the need to create a platform to engage and support young football talents, who have the energy and passion for the game and seek the right exposure.

“The Olympic brand has always been in the forefront of everything active, encouraging consumers to stay fit and live active lifestyles and this tournament further reiterates our commitment to this cause.

“Just last week, the brand unveiled a new proposition, active for longer with the reformulated Olympic Milk now contains all the essential ingredients plus Nutri-Active elements to help consumers stay active all day,” he said.

He revealed that Olympic Milk has increased the number of host cities from six to eight to boost the search for raw football talents.

Agbaje also announced financial rewards for winning teams.
