Organisers of the yearly Owerri basketball classics have revealed that the event will hold during the Easter holidays. The competition will feature teams from the South East and South South.

The inaugural edition of the classic, sponsored by chairman, Imo State Basketball Association, Mr. Kelechi Anosike, attracted 14 teams from the two geopolitical zones.

The teams were sponsored by eminent dignitaries, including Iyke Diogu and Kelechi Anuna, as well as the country’s most decorated basketball player, Julius Nwosu.

According to the media coordinator of the competition, Kennedy Onwunali, the organisers have appealed for sponsorship support from corporate bodies and sports-loving individuals.
