Kwara Falcons lead West Africa’s best to Lagos 2024 Basketball Classics
Kwara Falcons of Ilorin will lead West Africa’s top teams to the region’s maiden basketball classics, which will tip off today at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
After grueling first and second phases of the event in Lome, Togo and Cotonou, Benin Republic, the Final Four is billed to hold from today to June 7 with Gidi Giants of Nigeria, ASPAC of Benin Republic, Kwara Falcons of Ilorin, Nigeria and Swallows of Togo contesting for honours.
The first semifinal game will see ASPAC up against Kwara Falcons at 3:00 pm, while Gidi Giants will meet Swallows immediately after at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium.
The third place and final games will hold on Friday.
According to the President of the WABC, Olumide Oyedeji, the Final Four will be a spectacle to behold as plans are on ground to make it a showpiece.
“We’re working round the clock to make the event a delight for basketball followers across the world. Of the six teams that kick-started the WABC, only GRA Braves of Ghana and Elan Cotton of Benin Republic will be absent in Lagos.”
