PGA of Nigeria targets N300million at Fund Raising/Gala night
The Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) of Nigeria will hold a Fund Raising Gala Night on November 19, 2021 at the Federal Palace Hotels & Casino, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The association’s target is a N300 million and more. The fund is to enable it prosecute The Nigeria Tour tournaments in 2022, with at least, one tournament in a month and a mega event that will attract global participation from the US PGA; European Tour among others in the year 2022.
This development, the PGA of Nigeria believes, would enable it attract bigger and better sponsorship/partnership deals, just as it promised to make probity, transparency and accountability its watch word from the funds generated.
The association also believes that with regular and quality tournaments, its players will have opportunity of improving their games and ranking, playing among the bests in the world of golf.
According to the PGA of Nigeria, amateur golf will feature in the Tour, also, youths will have attention of the Tour for the development of the game.
Highlight of the occasion will be the investiture of Nigeria’s former President, by Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as the Grand Patron of the association, as well as the unveiling of the Nigeria Tour logo.
Dignitaries expected at the occasion include Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governors from all other states of the federation, elder statesmen, industrialists and others.
The Royal Father of the Gala Night is HRM Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, the Elegushi of Ikateland, Kusenla III.
