With the athletes nearing the final lap of the race, the Stadium suddenly turned pitch black athletes relied on spectators’ phone flashlights to complete the race.
An official from Ogun State, who pleaded anonymity, attributed the incident to a technical error, noting that such issues can occur even in developed countries.
Meanwhile, Delta State has once again stamped its authority on the National Sports Festival, surging to the top of the medals table after a dominant performance in swimming and taekwondo.
Team Delta State has garnered a total of 76 Medals, consisting of 35 gold, 12 silver and 29 bronze medals, overtaking Team Bayelsa, which now boasts 66 medals, 33 gold, 16 silver and 17 bronze
