PSG’s Kylian Mbappe linked with a move away from Paris
The World Cup winner moved to PSG from Monaco on a permanent deal for €180 million and since then he had continued to progress for club and country. Despite only being 22-years-old, Mbappe has won the Ligue 1 title three times already in his career.
Mbappe is being linked with a move away from Parc des Princes next summer in a deal which could break the world transfer record held by Neymar when he moved to PSG from Barcelona for €222 million. PSG are unlikely to budge for any bids which do not match their evaluation of the superstar.
Real Madrid are one of the teams interested in splashing the cash on Mbappe in order to make him their new ‘Galactico’. The Spanish giants have only won the league title once in the last seven years, with the latest success coming in the 2016-17 campaign. Los Blancos started their rebuilding back in the summer with the notable signings of Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic from Chelsea and Eintracht Frankfurt respectively. Those two players are only the start of a plan to give manager Zinedine Zidane more firing power.
Mbappe finished fourth in the Ballon d’Or award last year and in order to challenge Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for the prize of the best footballer in the world, the Frenchman has been encouraged by many former players and pundits to leave PSG to join one of the major clubs in Spain or England. PSG are 1/50 in the football betting to win Ligue 1, once again, this season, but it is the Champions League which Mbappe will be eyeing up. The French champions are 7/1 to prevail in Europe’s premier competition. If they are not successful in the 2019/20 campaign, the Frenchman may want to look elsewhere to give himself the best shot of winning the trophy.
Defending Champions League winners Liverpool have also been linked with a move for Mbappe next summer. Jurgen Klopp’s side already have one of the best forward lines in world football with Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane; however, they will surely not turn down the chance to enhance their attack even further with the signing of the PSG star, if it was presented to them.
Liverpool have a strong pedigree in the Champions League as they reached the final in 2017/18, losing to Real Madrid in the final, while last season they went one better, defeating Premier League rivals Tottenham 2-0 in the final in Madrid. If Mbappe is interested in a move to England, he may see the Merseyside club as the perfect option.
For now, Mbappe is looking to top his record of 39 goals from the 2018/19 campaign, and by doing that, he will hit a century of goals for PSG.
