Rangers must fall today, MFM coach boasts
As the Nigerian Professional Football League enters Match Day 10, one of the key fixtures, which promises to be explosive, is the encounter between the Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) of Lagos and Enugu Rangers scheduled for today at the Agege Stadium.
MFM FC currently occupies the sixth position on the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) table with 15 points, while Enugu Rangers sit on top of the log with 17 points. But MFM Coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, says today’s fixture at the Agege Stadium is the one his team must win.
Speaking to The Guardian yesterday, Ilechukwu said his boys have prepared well enough to ensure victory come what may. He added: “We are going to beat Rangers of Enugu… we need to win because we deserve to win. We are working very hard to ensure that victory is ours come tomorrow (today).
“I know we have the weapon, the technical ability, which we have been working on. I know the game is going to be a very difficult one, but all the same, we have prepared well for it. I can assure you that we have the quality, the power and above all prayers, which has been the key behind our success in this year’s campaign in the Nigerian Professional League.”
The victory today could take MFM back to the top of the league, a possibility that Ilechukwu is aware of, but he says, “Our problem, for now, is not about topping the table right since the league is still fresh. Our focus is to take one match after the other. You know we are newcomers and we are still working on stable strategies that will guarantee us success in the league,” he said.
