… Rift will affect Super Eagles’ unity, says Ezeugo
Former Super Eagles star, Emeka Ezeugo, is dismayed by the approach adopted by Coach Sunday Oliseh in removing Vincent Enyeama as captain of the national team. He believes the incident will bring disunity among players in the team.
Ezeugo, who said the coach should have sought the consent of the players in the team’s Belgium camp before appointing a new captain for the senior national team, lamented that it was a sad way to treat the Lille of France goalkeeper, who has been committed to the Super Eagles over the year.
He advised Oliseh to create a healthy atmosphere for his players if he desired their commitment to the team, adding that the coach should settle his differences with Enyeama to douse the controversy the issue has generated.
“Imposing a particular player on a team as captain without the total support of the players could bring disunity among them. Oliseh should carry his players along in any measure he wants to use to revamp the team.
“I feel sad because Enyeama has been committed to the national team… he does not need to be treated like a nobody after making over 100 caps for the Super Eagles,’’ he said.

Good point raised by Ezeugo, but Oliseh does not have “natural” wisdom to listen to sound advice. The players who choose their leaders are more apt to listen to them, than a candidate imposed on them.
We will review and take appropriate action.
