Sporting24 deepens strategic ties with Edo University Iyamho

In a bold step toward strengthening its commitment to youth development and academic collaboration, Sporting24 Football Academy paid a strategic courtesy visit to Edo University Iyamho on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. The high-level engagement, held at the university’s Senate Chambers, emphasized ongoing cooperation and set the stage for future initiatives aimed at empowering young athletes through education and sports.

The Sporting24 delegation was led by the Academy’s CEO, Mr. Gabriel Imadonmwinyi, accompanied by Head Coach Odianosen Abraham, Team Captain Abdullateef Jafar, and Media Representative Elvis Osemwengie. The team was warmly received by the Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Dawood O. Egbefo, alongside key members of the university’s management.

Speaking during the visit, Mr. Imadonmwinyi expressed deep appreciation to Edo University for its unwavering support—particularly in granting access to its world-class sports facilities for training sessions. He praised the institution’s progressive stance on youth and sports development, describing the partnership as one with far-reaching potential for both parties.

“Edo University has proven to be more than an academic institution—it is a hub for nurturing complete individuals. Our continued collaboration reflects our shared vision of raising intellectually sound and athletically gifted youth,” Mr. Imadonmwinyi stated.

Professor Egbefo, in his response, lauded the initiative and described sports as a powerful tool for holistic student development. He highlighted the university’s interest in further deepening the collaboration with Sporting24, especially in areas such as student mentorship, international exposure, and talent development.

Also speaking, Professor (Mrs.) M. Maliki, Special Adviser on Administration to the Acting Vice Chancellor, commended the Academy for its professionalism and consistency. She encouraged Sporting24 to remain actively involved in campus activities and to scout and train promising student-athletes.

Dr. Kingsley E. Ukhurebor, Acting Director of Sports, reinforced the importance of such synergies. He noted that the collaboration is already yielding visible impact and reiterated the university’s readiness to support long-term projects that connect student-athletes to national and global opportunities.

The event concluded with a ceremonial exchange of gifts—symbolizing mutual respect and a joint commitment to leveraging sports as a vehicle for academic excellence, talent development, and global competitiveness.
