Sunola Foods, Sunseeds win Kewalram Cup

Sunola Foods and Sunseeds Limited have emerged winners at this year’s Kewalram Chanrai Champions League finals held at the NITEL playground, Oshodi, Lagos.

Sunola Foods and Sunseeds Limited have emerged winners at this year’s Kewalram Chanrai Champions League finals held at the NITEL playground, Oshodi, Lagos.

Sunola defeated archrivals, Chanrai Nigeria Limited to win the male category, while Sunseeds edged out Affcor Limited by a lone goal to clinch the women’s title.

Sunola triumphed via penalty shootout with Royal Gabriel scoring the decisive kick for a 5-3 win, while Sunseeds won the ladies cup final trophy with a goal by Bunmi Sylvester just before the end of the regular time.

The final was watched by a large crowd, which included Kewalram Group’s Managing Director, Siva Suburamanina, his immediate Deputy, Elder Victor Eburajolo, as well as other top executives of the company.

Others were the Asahi Division Director, Mr. Anil Sahgal, the Group Finance Director, Mr. Suresh Nayak, Mr. Tarun Das, Director, Agric Division, Saibal Majumdar, Director HR, Mr. James Ogundepo, the Group Company Secretary, Mr. Satish Nair, Executive Director, Sunola Foods Ltd, Mr. V. Viswanathan, and Mr. Dapo Olofinbinu of the Kewalram Motors Division,

In his remark, the Group Managing Director expressed his profound gratitude to the organizers and respective participants at the games, which he said were the best vehicles to mutual love and inspiration among the staff and the management in the quest for efficiency and continued expansion, growth and meaningful success of all. The Deputy Group Managing Director, Elder Victor Oburajolo also commended the organisers and charged government and other stakeholders to invest in sports, especially, football, which, he described as the ultimate unifying factor devoid of political, tribal or religious sentiments.
