TCCG Boys, Real United clash in final of Ajide U-20 Football Championship

TCCG Boys FC Ikorodu and Real United FC Yaba will play in the final of the second edition of Hon. Tajudeen Ajide U-20 Football Championship today at the Legacy pitch, National Stadium Surulere, Lagos.

Association of Proprietors of Football Academies of Nigeria (APFAN) sponsors the football championship.

TCCG Boys defeated FC Sweep of Surulere in a well-contested first semifinals through penalty, while Real United beat 2Touch FC of Surulere in the second semifinal, which also ended in a penalty shootout.

According to APFAN National President, Dr Francis Akinremi, the tournament bankrolled by Surulere Local Government Area (LGA) chairman, is an improvement on the first edition with 32 teams vying for the coveted trophy at the beginning of the event.

APFAN Secretary General Michael Etim, while thanking participating teams for their high level of discipline and good sportsmanship displayed, said the final would be eventful as notable ex-internationals and friends of Ajide are expected to grace the occasion.
