Teams arrive today as North Central tourney begins
Representative teams of the seven states in the North Central zone have arrived Abuja for the zonal finals of the maiden edition of the NFF/Zenith Bank Future Eagles Championship, which kicks off today.
The competition, which is for U-13 and U-15 categories, will see Niger, Plateau, Nasarawa, Kwara, Benue and Kogi States and the Federal Capital Territory battling for supremacy At the FIFA goal project in the FCT.
Chairman of the Niger State Football Association and Coordinator of the zone, Alhaji Yusuf Ahmed Fresh, told thenff.com that the one–week championship will commence today, adding, “all arrangements have been perfected for a hitch –free tournament.
“We know how important this championship is to the present NFF administration and we will spare no effort to organize a successful competition,” said Fresh.
The finals of the inaugural NFF/Zenith Bank Future Eagles Championship will hold in Lagos early next month.
