The Gambia appoints Adedeji as Scrabble Championship technical director
One of the country’s top technical officials, Khaleel Adedeji, has arrived in Banjul, The Gambian capital, on the invitation of the country’s scrabble federation to help organise their National Championship slated to hold from August 12 to 14.
Adedeji was invited by Dr. Abba Hydara-led Gambia National Scrabble Association to share his technical knowledge with the country’s officials during the championship.
Adedeji, also known as Dynamite, has travelled to different parts of Nigeria, officiating in tournaments, retreats and championships.
Speaking on his invitation to The Gambia, Adedeji said he was elated at the opportunity of being Nigeria’s ambassador of scrabble to The Gambia.
“I feel elated to be called for a tournament outside the country; the first was the West Africa Championship in Ghana. It shows that I am doing something right and I hope to improve on it and be the best I can be in terms of directing tournaments.
“Hopefully, I will direct a world scrabble tournament soon. I am only opportune to be the one chosen to train their technical personnel. The Gambia entourage was at West Africa Championship, which I directed,” he said.
