Top ladies anticipate tough challenge at Leopard tourney

Stars from some African countries are billed to strut their stuff at the Leopard Golf and Beauty Pageant scheduled for Lafarge Golf Club Sagamu next month. Also, Nigeria’s top lady gofers say they are ready for the two-in-one event.

Speaking on the expectations at the competition, Christy ka’ase, the Lady Captain of Python International Golf Club, formerly Air Assault, owned by Nigerian Army 6 Division Port Harcourt, reiterated her readiness to be part of epic golf event by training hard and acquiring leopard print accessories.

She described the Leopard event as a golf tournament designed to solidify relationships amongst lady golfers within and outside Nigeria, as well as groom young players and empower women in the golf world.

“Golf is life because it is full of experiences, expectations, criticism and sometimes disappointments. We play the game because we have got passion for it, and lot has happened and still happening,” ka’ase noted.Meanwhile, Team Uganda, led by Gloria Nakalembe have signified her intention to be part of the big golf event billed to hold from August 16 to 18, 2019

Other top golfers from notable golf clubs in Uganda are Kityo Sarah Breeze, Bitarabeho Gloria Mbaguta, Asiimwe Evarlyne Buregyeya, Sheila Mwine, Kamusiime Caroline and Magala Evah Okatch.The organising committee of the tournament, led by Ms. Sumbo Oshile, has also announced the panel of judges comprising top golfers and professionals of repute expected to sit and select winners in the pageants.

Among them is Gen M.C Ezeoke (Rtd.), a former Captain of the Air Assault Golf Club in Port Harcourt, now Python International Golf Club, a member of Ikoyi and Dolphin Golf Clubs, Col Ade Sunmonu (Rtd.), who is the incumbent captain of Ibadan Golf Club, is also serving as a judge while

Other members of the panel are Ms. Mary Gabriel, who is a member of ‘Hole 19,’ has contributed immensely to the growth of golf in areas of support and camaraderie, and Arc Nanwor Mamven, a past Lady Captain of The IBB Golf and Country Club.

Also on the list of judges is Susan Cole Kotas, a past Lady Captain of several golf clubs, an active lady golfer, who has risen from the rungs of the Association ladder to the top. She is currently the first Vice President of Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN).
