Two American coaches arrive Delta for AFN’s partnership

Two American coaches have arrived in Asaba, Delta State, on the invitation of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN).

The Head Coach of Mississippi State University (MSU), Coach Chris Woods, and his assistant, Mark Quis, who came to Asaba on Tuesday, were spotted watching the evening session of the athletics events at the Stephen Keshi Stadium.
   
According to AFN Head Coach, Seigha Porbeni, the two Americans are in Delta to partner with the Federation, led by Tonobok Okowa.
The AFN boss is also the executive chairman of Delta State Sports Commission, as well as the co-chairman of the Delta 2022 Local Organising Committee (LOC).
According to Porbeni, the two Americans are using Delta 2022 National Sports Festival to identify talents, who will be given scholarships to study at the Mississippi State University.

“This is a good development for the festival because any athlete discovered by these two American coaches will enjoy better career in both education and track and field,” Porbeni said.

Chairman of Delta State Athletics Association, Solomon Ogba, who is a former AFN president, welcomed the two American coaches to the state.
Ogba assured them of good hospitality and reassured them that they are in the right place at the right time.

AFN boss, Okowa, also welcomed the coaches and advised them to work closely with the technical director of the Federation, Samuel Onikeku and the national head coach, Porbeni, for maximum results.
