Confederation of African Football (CAF) has congratulated Nigeria’s Flying Eagles following their 2-0 win against Italy in their second Group D game at the U-20 World Cup in Argentina.

Second half goals from Salim Fago and Jude Sunday secured the win for the Flying Eagles which also seals qualification to round 16.

It is now back-to-back wins for the Flying Eagles who defeated debutant Dominican Republic 2-1 in their first game.

“The knockout stages await 👏,” CAF wrote on Twitter.

“What a win for Nigeria last night in the #U20WC that sealed their place in the round of 16 🙌

“Keep soaring, Eagles.”

The Flying Eagles will take on Brazil in their last group game on Saturday, May 27.

Brazil bounced back from their 3-2 defeat to Italy with a comfortable 6-0 win against Dominican Republic.
