Proprietor of Ifeanyi Ubah FC of Nnewi, Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, says the Anambra State Football Association (FA) normalization committee set up by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) would help settle the crisis in the state’s FA.

The NFF set up a seven-man normalization committee following the crisis that trailed elections into the FA board, which saw the incumbent chairman and former member of the NFF executive board member, Mike Umeh, as winner, while Ubah emerged as the vice chairman.

Ubah told The Guardian in Abuja when he led the Ifeanyi Ubah FC feeder team to a friendly match against the national U17 team that even as he believed there was nothing wrong with the polls that brought them to board, he wants all football stakeholders in the state to support the committee to bring normalcy to the state’s FA.

“For me the normalization committee is doing its job. But I also know that the first election was very okay. The man at helm of affairs, Mike Umeh, is somebody we needed to support to move football forward in the state. But if some people think that setting up a normalization committee is the way forward, we are not afraid of that. Let them do their job and any day they feel that they are ready for a fresh election, we will still re contest and who ever that wins is okay by me.”

Meanwhile, the senior team, Ifeanyi Ubah FC, at the weekend beat Cardinal Arinze FC of Onitsha 4-0 to win the 2015 Anambra State FA cup.
