FORMER Nigerian Captain, Henry Nwosu, has charged Coach Sunday Oliseh to use Super Eagles second game against Tunisia at the on-going African Nations Championship (CHAN) as preparation for the Nations Cup qualifier against another North African country, Egypt, in March.
Nigeria will meet Egypt in a double header Gabon 2017 African Nations Cup qualifier in March.
The Pharaohs currently lead Group F of the Gabon 2017 qualifiers with six points from two games, while Nigeria has four points to occupy the second position in the group that also has CHA and Tanzania.
The home-based Eagles defeated Niger Republic 4-1 in their opening game of the on-going CHAN, but most followers of the game believe the real test will come on Friday when Nigeria meets Tunisia in their second group game.
Nwosu, who praised the Eagles for their victory against Niger Republic, said securing three points against a tactically disciplined Tunisian side will not only give the Eagles ticket to the next round of the CHAN championship, but also boost their morale to go all out for the Pharaohs when the Nations Cup qualifiers resume.
He charged the Eagles forget the victory over Niger Republic and focus 100 per cent on their remaining games.
“Scoring four goal against Niger Republic in the second half is a clear indication that the coaches and players had a good pep talk at half time. But they should know that playing against North African sides at any level has not been easy for Nigerian teams over the years.
“If the Eagles can beat Tunisians, it will give them the belief in their ability to win the championship and also the confidence to face Egypt in the Nations Cup qualifier.”
