Wakanow founder, Obinna Ekezie wins DOAMF 2018 charity golf tournament

Wakanow founder, Obinna Ekezie was crowned champion of the 2018 Daniel Ogechi Akujobi Memorial Foundation Charity Golf Tournament (DOAMF) on Saturday at the Golf Section of Ikoyi Club 1938 in Lagos.

Playing off an adjusted handicap of 19, Ekezie returned a 56 nett score to beat the rest of the field on a day of scintillating golfing experience. Basketball Heads Game Oladotun Isiaka finished three strokes behind him to pick the runner-up spot. George Uketui, who also finished three strokes behind, was the second runner-up on count-back.

For his efforts, Ekezie got not only the much coveted winner’s trophy but also an Air France/KLM Economy Class Return Ticket to London or Paris or Amsterdam (courtesy, friends of DOAMF), Freebet a Mifi Router with six months of paid data (courtesy of 9Mobile) and one roll of Ankara Fabric (courtesy of AirFrance/KLM).

“It is a great honour to win the event, being one of the most coveted titles at the Club. I am definitely enthralled to have achieved this. In the ladies’ category, Peggy Onwu emerged the overall winner with a 58 nett score to beat Lynda Obieze, the runner–up, by three strokes. Kike Familoni finished as the second runner-up.

Other winners at the tournament were Tim Ayomike, who shot 65 to pick the best gross prize, beating Ede Osemwengie and C. E. O. Ekeocha, who finished in second and third places respectively.

Valet Fatoumata and lots of market options are available Angela Adeboyega were the ladies’ best gross players at the event, with a 78 gross score, and Fatoumata taking the top position on count back.

M. Giovanni and Lanre Kalejaiye won the prizes for the nearest-to-the-pin and the longest drive respectively in the men’s category. Ronke Iyiola and Ifeoma Obata won nearest-to-the-pin and the longest drive respectively in the ladies’ category. Best betting odds All winners went home with an array of prizes in addition to the glittering trophies.

The event, which teed-off at 6:40 a.m. on Saturday, featured a field of 192 players in a strong show of support for the tournament.

The Coordinator, Organizing Committee of 2018 DOAMF Charity Golf Tournament, Mr. Pat Bassey, said the event continued to be the biggest show of support for the less privileged in the Nigerian golfing community.
