Rt. Revd Simeon Borokini

Ahead of 2023 general elections, the Archbishop of Ondo Ecclesiastical Province, Most Rev. Simeon Oluwole Borokini, has admonished Nigerians to consider matured men who will carry the banner of Christ into every fabric of the society and will also not be afraid to do the right thing for the benefit of the people.

Borokini who spoke recently at the opening of first Ondo Provincial Christian Men’s Fellowship (CMF) Conference at the Cathedral Church of Emmanuel, Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti State, with the theme: “Unto A Perfect Man,” noted that the conference was timely and important, especially as it takes into cognisance the roles and responsibilities of Christian men both in the church and the larger society. He urged Christian men to emulate Apostle Paul and walk as Ambassadors of Christ in all facets of life.

According to the Archbishop, only those who are righteous can combat corruption and make the glory of God to manifest in every facet of life both in the nation and the church.

Borokini said: “In the same vein, I like to state that men and women, old and young will also have the opportunity of seeing matured men as good and respectable role models and mentors that can lead the nation to the path of truth and righteousness.”

The host Bishop, Rt. Rev. Andrew Ajayi of Ekiti Diocese, commended the Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Most Rev Henry Ndukuba for improving the spiritual life of men in the church.

Also, the elder statesman and veteran broadcaster, Chief Sanya Oyinsan admonished the church to give more roles to men, adding that the indelible values of the roles cannot be over emphasised.

Addressing the delegates during the closing ceremony, the Provincial Christian Men’s Fellowship (CMF) Coordinating Bishop, Rt. Rev Adegoke Agara enjoined participants to go and show God’s light to others just like Prophet Isaiah yielded to God’s call, adding that they should obey God’s call for their lives. The two-day conference ended with a Holy Communion service, prayers for the nation and the Church, among others.
