For members and friends of God’s Kingdom Society (GKS) – The Church of the Living God, it was another time of spiritual revival at the 2022 Christian Feast of Tabernacles.

Held Sunday, December 11 to Sunday, December 18, 2022, the congregants converged at the newly constructed Saint Urhobo Square, the church’s headquarters, Salem City, Warri, Delta State, for the annual eight-day festival. The event was also streamed online via the various internet platforms of the church.

Since 2019, this was the first time the members would be physically present in large numbers to celebrate the feast. Many of the congregants followed the feast online for the years 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 restrictions.

President of the Church, Brother Felix Ekundayo Adedokun also delivered an address entitled: “The World before the Judgment Seat of God Almighty” during the Last and Great Day – Holy Convocation on Sunday, December 18, 2022.

He described the judgment seat of God Almighty as the act of God by which he expresses and exercises his authority and judicial determinations upon the people of the world for the benefit of those who are “willing and obedient” and punishment for those who “refuse and rebel.”

Specifically, he said the fall of man at the Garden of Eden by which sin entered into the world, coupled with the unabated wave of wickedness and godlessness in the last days, had necessitated the judgment of God.
Speaking further, he said Jesus Christ has been appointed as the judge of all the earth. With Jesus Christ to execute the judgment of God are the anointed Christians, the saints numbering 144,000.

In addition, he disclosed that one of the purposes of Christ’s second coming is the judgment of both living and the dead. To him, the judgment of the living is going on through the preaching of the everlasting gospel and the judgment of the dead will take place during the general resurrection at the millennial reign of Jesus Christ.

He revealed that the period of punishment for each of the unjust persons would be one hundred years, at the end of which those who prove obedient to God would be given eternal life, while the disobedient ones will be sentenced to the second death, which is everlasting destruction.

Continuing, he revealed it is worthy of note that no one dead or alive could escape the judgment of God, as everyone would be justly rewarded according to his or her deeds. He added that the preaching of the gospel serves as a warning to all people of the world to repent of their sins and turn to God.

Quoting Isaiah 28:21, Zephaniah 1:14-18, Matthew 24: 21 and 1 Corinthians 15:26, he said: “Those who refuse to pay heed to the gospel and continue in their evil deeds will have themselves to blame on the day of reckoning when God will severely punish them at the Great Tribulation, which will be climaxed by the Battle of the Great Day of God Almighty—the strange act of God—when all the wicked, including the devil, will be destroyed.”

He also advised: “I hereby charge you my fellow celebrants to obey and serve God with humility and sincerity now that we have our being so as to be on The Lord’s side of favour by his grace.

With specific reference to Job 36:10-12, he concluded: “He opens their ear to discipline, and commanded that they return from iniquity. If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. But if they obey not, they shall perish by their sword, and they shall die without knowledge.”

Fielding questions from journalists shortly after the last and Great Day-Holy Convocation, he said if people could come to the church and humble themselves to learn, there would be peace in the country.

Quoting Isaiah 11: 6-9, he said in the kingdom of God, there would be peace among everyone., adding, “The world cannot give peace. But in the kingdom of God, the lion and wolf will dwell together. At GKS, we always preach peace,” he stated.

Ahead of 2023 general elections, he advised politicians to have fear of God and be honest. He also said the church is praying that God should send someone who will fear him.

The Vice President, Brother T. M. Ekiseowei disclosed that over N200m have been spent on the new cathedral.

The event featured Bible lectures each day on spiritually enlightening topics by the ministers and members of the church. Other highlights of the event included the Christian Women Assembly, where women exhort their fellow women on the need to be godly women; procession, blessing of children, musical performances, declaration of faith in God Almighty and His son Jesus Christ by the Laity of the Church, thanksgiving and prayers to God.
