When you feel discouraged or inadequate, remember that God has always seen you as His valuable child and has a purpose for you.God “ordained” Jeremiah “a prophet to the nations,” which shows that God has a purpose for every Christian, even though some people are appointed for specific kinds of work. Samson (Judges 13:3-5). David (1Samuel 16:1,12,13). John the Baptist (Luke 1:13-17), and Paul (Galatians 1:15,16) were also called to do particular jobs for God. Whatever work you do should be done to the glory of God (Philippians 1:11). If God gives you a specific task, accept it cheerfully and do it with diligence. If God has not given you a specific call or assignment, then seek to fulfill the mission common to all believers — to love, obey, and serve God — until His guidance becomes clearer.

Often, people struggle with new challenges because they lack self-confidence, feel that they have inadequate ability, improper training, or experience, (Jeremiah1: 6-8). Jeremiah thought he was only “a youth” —too young and inexperienced to be God’s spokesman to the world. To make Jeremiah to overcome his fears, God promised to be with him. We should not allow the feeling of inadequacy to keep us from obeying God’s call; He will always be with us. When you find yourself avoiding something you know you should do, be careful not to use lack of self-confidence as an excuse. If God gives you a job to do, He will provide all that you need to do the job. God sees each of us as diamond in the rough. All that is required is to make yourself available for His call and respond to His divine alchemy in your life.

Jeremiah 1:9: “My words in your mouth.” God assures Jeremiah that his prophetic message would be inspired by God; his words would be God’s words (cf. Rom 10:8). Convinced of this, Jeremiah never compromised or modified the word of the Lord (Jeremiah 37:16-17).

As Regards Moses
There were no justifiable excuses for Moses not to accept God’s commands. Read Exodus 3:1-14 — Moses at the burning bush

“But Moses said to God, “who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” (Exod 3:11)
God spoke from out of the bush and gave Moses a vision of a task that Moses, then 80 years old, found utterly overwhelming. He offered God a number of excuses as to why he was not suitable for the task. But he later found that if God entrusts a person with a new vision, the task ahead would never be as great as the power that is behind it. It was pointless saying, ‘send somebody else; or putting forward reasons the task cannot be accomplished. Settle the matter once and for all: when God gives you a new calling, a new task or a new vision, no excuses are justifiable.
