Renowned Nigerian gospel music artiste, Modupe Raphael-Ogbe, has attributed the manifestation of God’s grace in the lives of anointed praise and worship leaders across the country to God’s end-time agenda. She believes that the recent surge in young gospel singers making waves in Nigeria is part of a divine plan.

Nigeria has witnessed a remarkable rise in talented gospel musicians whose works are attracting attention both locally and internationally. These artists are not only gaining recognition for their musical talent but also for the evident presence of the Holy Spirit in their ministries. Their songs have garnered impressive streaming numbers and revenue on various global platforms, highlighting the significant role of gospel music in contemporary worship.

Modupe Ogbe, who serves as the provincial music director at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), is one of these anointed vessels. Known for her unique ability to minister in a Don Moen-like manner—singing and playing the piano simultaneously—she sees this moment as part of a divine revolution in gospel music.

“The role of music in worship cannot be over-emphasised, and in our contemporary time, the Lord has really released grace upon so many minstrels out there. I’m sure it is part of the end-time agenda,” Modupe Ogbe shared. “There is a revolution in gospel music. It is no longer what it used to be. In the late ’80s and early ’90s, it was mostly foreign music, but now we see a lot of Nigerians coming up with great gospel music, and it is one of the divine agendas of God in this end time.”

Popularly known as Dupe Ogbe, the artiste, who is married to Pastor Raphael Ogbe and blessed with a son and daughter, has already released four albums and several singles. Her work is widely available on streaming platforms, and she is currently working on her latest project, which she hopes will be released soon.

“To the glory of God, I have released about four albums; at least three are on CDs and one on tape from the days of radio. There are others available on the internet. I have been working on a new project for a while now, and I am trusting God that very soon, it will be released, and the Lord will be glorified through it,” Modupe Ogbe revealed.

Starting her musical career as a child, Ogbe has witnessed the transformative power of social media in spreading the gospel of Christ to audiences she might never have reached otherwise.

“Of course, the role of social media in not just music, but ministry, cannot be over-emphasised. The world has become global, and social media has opened up so many opportunities to reach out to millions and billions of people that ordinarily, you would not have been able to connect with. Social media has played a very important and positive role in my ministry,” she noted.

“For me, I see the positive aspect of social media; it has helped me to reach a wide range of people and connect with individuals of different tribes and beliefs. It has been incredibly helpful in the gospel music ministry,” Modupe Ogbe added.

As she continues her journey in ministry, Modupe Raphael-Ogbe remains a shining example of how gospel music can be a powerful tool for spreading the message of Christ, and she is determined to continue using her gifts to glorify God and inspire others.
