A non-denominational group, Christian Conscience, has appealed to the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to address the problems facing the people as a matter of priority when sworn-in as President of Nigeria.

A non-denominational group, Christian Conscience, has appealed to the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to address the problems facing the people as a matter of priority when sworn-in as President of Nigeria. The group disclosed that the people are suffering and bitter about the situation of the country.

Describing Tinubu as the Commander-in-Chief of the nation, the group said the tension and suffering in the land must be doused, stressing that his government should address the issues of food, security, basic infrastructure and create more jobs for the youths, as promised during his campaign.

Congratulating the President-elect and wishing him God’s guidance, the group urged him to form a government of inclusiveness where Nigerians will have a sense of belonging.

In a statement signed by its National Chairman, Dr. Yetunde Akinluyi and National Secretary, Rev Kolawole Verrals and made available by its National Publicity Director, Tunji Oguntuase to The Guardian, the group applauded the President-elect’s speech in which he said, he would offer those that contested against him, the opportunity to join his government as partners in nation building.

“Though you have done it before with your achievements in Lagos as governor, now with your emergence as President-elect, all eyes are on you, both within the country and before the comity of nations,” the group said.

While urging the in-coming administration to be fair, just and God-fearing in all policies/actions, the group also congratulated Lagosians for the peaceful conduct of the last presidential election. It enjoined the electorate to vote for continuity in Lagos so that there will be more dividends of democracy for the people.

“We enjoined Lagosians to continue to live in peace and in harmony. We should not allow elections to divide us. Nations can only progress amid love,” it said.
