Text: Mathew 21; Genesis 6 – 7
Key Verse: Mathew 1:21, “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.”

Christmas Celebration is a season of celebrating the best gift that the world has ever had since its inception. It is a season of celebrating the birth of the Saviour of the world. The significant thing about the birth of Jesus was the purpose of His coming into the world, which is to save the people of the world from their sins.

The very important question that should readily come to your mind is: Are you saved from your sins? You are not saved from your sins, if you have not entered the boat of salvation.

What do I mean by the boat of salvation? I mean have you surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus Christ by believing in the finished work on the cross? Have you confessed your sins and forsaken them? Are you living right with God and is your name in the Book of Life? Have you forsaken your sinful life? Jesus is the boat of salvation and it is only the people who receive Him that He will allow to enter the boat of salvation, which leads to eternal life in Heaven.

When the world was destroyed by water in the days of Noah, it was only the people who were in the ark that were saved. Those who were outside the boat were utterly destroyed.

Notice something with me. In order to be saved from the flood, they had to enter the boat through an act of faith. In order to perish in the flood, all they had to do was… nothing! In order to be saved and forgiven, you have to enter by faith into a personal relationship with Christ. In order to live under the condemnation of God, and one day go out into an eternity in hell, all you have to do is…nothing.

According to Genesis 6:16, the ark had three decks/storeys of various sizes, but there was only one (the door) door. There was only one way into the ark, just like Jesus is the only door through which you can receive salvation. He is the only way into the boat of salvation. Jesus Christ is the only way to be saved, John 10:9.

The only way to be saved is through a personal faith in Jesus Christ. There are no exceptions, no loopholes, and no alternatives. There is not a Baptist way, a Methodist way, and an Assemblies of God way. There is one way: the Jesus way!

You cannot afford to celebrate Christmas, when you are swimming in the ocean of iniquity. You cannot celebrate Jesus, Whom you know nothing about. The birth of Jesus was intended to bring salvation to you and your entire household.

If you are already saved, Christmas is a season of taking the gospel to those who have not yet entered the boat of salvation. It is a season for sinners to get saved and harness the treasures of Christmas.

Jesus left the glories of Heaven to identify with the hopelessness of humanity, so as to give hope of eternity to all who believed. By giving His life to die for mankind, it was a selfless giving. As a leader in whatever capacity you are serving, are you leading for the betterment of the led, or are you impoverishing the people that you lead? We must emulate the Selfless lifestyle of Jesus.

Christmas is not a season of sacrificing to idols that did not give you life. No, please don’t do that, but rather surrender your life to the Lord Jesus Christ today before it is too late.

Jesus is the reason for the season. For unto us, a Saviour is born. Has the Saviour been born personally to you? If you have ever sinned against God, you need a Saviour.

The world is in need of a Saviour and Jesus is the only Saviour. No one is able to revive our broken world. Civilization in its totality is terribly weak. People are upset with the leadership of their countries. Everything is crumbling before our eyes – the only way out is Jesus.

Today’s Nugget: The Only Way out is Jesus.
Prayer: Lord, save me today from my sins and blot out my name from the book of death.
