At Embrace 2015: Many Gave Their Lives To Christ
OVER 15, 000 worshippers attended this year’s “Embrace of New Beginning” organised by the Embrace International Assembly (The Impact Centre) held recently at the Ikorodu Town Hall, Lagos on April 3, 2015. The yearly programme was attended by a host of renowned artistes from within and outside the country, among who are Chad Daniels from the U.S., veteran Nigerian musician, Ebenezer Obey, Sammy Okposo, Tope Alabi, Flo, Mid Night Crew, Bayo Adesuyi, Embrace Voices and others, who thrilled the audience, with Lepacious Bose as the compere.
Delivering the sermon, Chad Daniels of the United States urged the youths to immerse themselves in the things of Christ and avoid being distracted by worldly pleasures. While imploring them to be careful in the way they make use of technology and civilisation, Daniels said it is not too good for their spiritual life.
Isaac Adeyemi, Presiding pastor of the church, told The Guardian that the purpose of the programme is to win souls for Christ. “It is a form of evangelism to reach out to lost souls, as commanded by our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. This is why the event is held every Good Friday, to remind us of the death and resurrection of Christ and the reason behind that supreme sacrifice, which is to bring salvation to the world,” he said.
The event, which lasted till Holy Saturday morning, witnessed over 700 people giving their lives to Christ. The church also celebrated with Ebenezer Obey, whose birthday coincided with the event.
