At OAIC election, cleric tasks christian women on God-given qualities
Apostle General, Bishop Kayode Ogunleye, Motailatu, Cherubim and Seraphim Church and State Secretary, Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC), Lagos Chapter, has called on Christian women to remain virtuous as well as maintain the outstanding qualities given to them by God, with a view to filling various positions available for them in the Church and in nation building.
Ogunleye, who superintended over the election of new officers for Women and Children Department, (OAIC), organised by Lagos Chapter, made up of more than 50 African Churches, held at Sacred C/S Shiloh Cathedral, Agege, Lagos, said the role of Christian women as home builders, should also extend to the nation as well.
The election, which produced about 15 new officers to replace the outgoing ones led to the emergence of Prophetess Stella Okoroafor of Eternal Sacred Order, Cherubim and Seraphim as the new Chairperson to lead the department for the next four years.
Other officers include the Secretary, Lady Leader A. Joshua of Motailatu Cherubim and Seraphim Church; Financial Secretary, Mother Veronica Ukamba of Christ Holy Church; Legal Adviser, Lady Leader, Barrister J. Omoya of Motailatu Cherubim and Seraphim Church among others.
The election was also witnessed by the State Treasurer, OAIC, Primate Anthony Omoyele-Adu, State Assistant Secretary, Revd. Victor Odebode and Revd. Mother, Toyin Sobowale.
Ogunleye said the elected officers had fulfilled the requirement as women of integrity, sincerity and had shown sense of commitment that they could be trusted to hold the offices.
Okoroafor speaking on her new role, said she would empower women in various vocations and make them outstanding, both in the church, at home and in the nation.
She added that her department would continue to train children and youths in godly ways including the way they should dress and through seminars.
