The Chief Missioner of Christian Network for Africa Mission, Evangelist Edwin Ebeniro, has concluded plans to launch its audio Bible device on August 8, 2025 atYaba Presbyterian Church in Lagos.
Highlighting the benefits of the device, Ebenirocalled on churches and Christians to embrace it for evangelism, especially for those who cannot read, saying it is one of the most strategic ways to reach out to unlettered.
Disclosed that he was inspired to produce the device in 2019, during a conference in Uganda,Ebeniro added that the audio Bible would break the language barrier completely as listeners could hear God’s word read to them in their own language.
He said: “It is the first locally assembled device. The beauty of it, is that users can listen to the Bible, while they do other things. It is unlike when you read the hard copy, which compels you to shut down other things you are doing. It also helps to break the barrier of literacy.
“The question of I cannot read is out of the way. The device makes it easy for the illiterate and the visually impaired toaccess God’s word. That is why we are campaigning and asking churches to invest in its production. We are formally kicking off the campaign and to encourage churches to subscribe to it for evangelism and their personal spiritual growth.”
Comingin different languages and colours, the chief missioner disclosed that the device could be used without electricity and can be powered by solar.
Placing cost at about N8,000per device,Ebeniro revealed that some Christians have been funding the production purposely for evangelism, adding that last year, its organisationproduced 5,000 devices and distributed across Nigeria and the West African countries. This year, it looks forward toproducing 24,000 copies that will be distributed to the unreached places in Africa and Asia.
