Church launches Kiibati online radio
Following her vision of preaching the gospel and spreading it across the world, Bishop of the Power Pentecostal Church, Okota, Isolo, Lagos, Bolanle Odeleke has launched an online radio called Kiibati, which means the Power of God never fails.
The internet radio, which is heard in nine countries of the world, including USA, UK, Turkey, Ghana, Canada and France will transmit 24 hours with talks from men of God, career and inspirational teachings. Speaking at the launch, Bishop Odeleke said the vision was conceived in 1974.
“I thank God that today another vision is fulfilled. I was at LTV8 for an interview sometime ago and every crewmember that was supposed to record me was just missing at one point or the other. When they found the soundman, they were looking for the cameraman. Everything was in disarray though I was ready to preach. I went outside, looked up into the heaven and requested that God should give me my own Television and Radio station, so I can broadcast to the world. Kiibati online radio is heard around the world. I am happy following what the Lord says, when He says: ‘Go ye unto the world and preach the gospel.’ Since we started test running we have gotten a lot of feedback, we have kicked off fully,” she explained.
Narrating her initial experience and the fact that there were no Bible Colleges for women, the first female bishop in Nigeria said: “From the day I was called into the ministry, I had some things in mind, which also included a Bible College. At the time of my calling, there was no Bible College for women and so, I wanted to gate crash into a Bible College in Ogbomosho.
The principal told me that women were not allowed. I begged to buy my own chair and table and sit at the verandah to listen through the window, but he didn’t accept. Rather, he said I should go back to the kitchen and cook for my husband. Even when I explained that my husband had given his consent, he replied harshly, “Woman, your talk is getting too much. Please go out of my office. You cannot attend any Bible College, and you are not allowed in.
“That day is still very fresh in my mind, as I came out of his office sad. I stood in the centre of the Bible College, looked up into the heavens and said: ‘God you have sent me to preach the gospel, and I am ready to do it, but I want to know the Bible and the gospel apart from the visions and prophesy. But since these people have rejected me, I want you to give me a Bible College. And the Lord said I already had one and at the appointed time, I would start it.
“I thank the Lord that when I went for a crusade at Ogbomosho, that White man that sent me out, saw me preaching amid the crowd with miracles happening through God’s power. He ran up to the platform and said to me, ‘I am sorry. I did not understand it, when you were telling me.’ And so I told him to repeat to the crowd what he told me and apologise, which he did. Right from then, I made up my mind to do all that I can to win souls for the Lord.”
Also speaking at the launch, Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Okota Chapter, Bishop Mark Omonze enjoined all to tune to the online station.
“This is where you hear good news, the news of hope, encouragement and power that changes life for the better because we know that it changes life forever.
We know that God’s power never fails and as you listen and pay attention to the radio programmes, there will be amazing testimonies. I thank Bishop Odeleke for this vision because investment in the gospel is a sacrifice God can never ever forget,” he said.
Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Isolo Chapter, Rev. Jibola Babafemi, noted that this is an history making day, as the online radio will not only get to countries around the world, but into every home.
He prayed that as people listen, testimonies would emerge.
