Unity is the formation of various units coming together as one single block.

S. I. Okelezoh

What is unity and what are the types of unity?
Unity is the formation of various units coming together as one single block.
Psalms 133:1-3
[1] (A Song of degrees of David.) Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
[2] It is like the precious ointment upon the head that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;
[3] As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

Democratic unity
Unity can arise from a peaceful agreement of different people in a contiguous geographical location to politically and economically live together by a consensus constitution.
Ephesians 4:3
[3] Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Coercive unity
This is another form of unity, which is cruel, wicked and evil. It has no respect for the exercise of people’s free will and choice power, which is the unity, laid on the foundation of BONDAGE. The rulers do so by FORCE, to keep the bondage-citizens by force, threat and warnings. This order and leadership style is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Thus, in Nigeria, this is the common and regular voice of threat that goes out to the second class, third class and downtrodden. While the first class do the killings across the nation, carting away the resources, inheriting all good things of life and the poor and needy must not react because the “unity of Nigeria cannot be negotiated by dissenting and opposing voices.”

But only the wicked, corrupt and unjust can continually be allowed to negotiate it to extinction! Please, let us sit down together and negotiate true, peaceful and enduring unity of our beloved nation; now that we still have it in our hands.
God bless you.
