Diocese of Okrika Council of Knights ends retreat

Council of Knights of the Diocese of Okrika Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), recently held its yearly retreat at the Ibru Ecumenical Centre, Agbarha-Otor, tagged: “Serve God With Humility, Love, And Faith,” taken from Rom.12:11.

Opening the retreat with his paper titled, “Service To God,”Bishop of the Diocese of Okrika, Rt. Reverend Enoch Atuboyedia,warned Christians against serving God for theirown selfish interest instead of according to the obligation of God.

He explained that serving God with a selfish interest amounts to rendering service in slackness, negligence, deceit and laxity, among others.

Citing Jer. 48:10, Atuboyedia reminded Christians that God has placed a curse on such service and on those that will not carry out His will in their service.

The theme of the retreat, which was broken down into sub-themes drew speakers from far and wide and they did justice to the different topics.
