2Peter 2:1-2: “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2: And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.”
The Devil employs different strategies in his fight against the children of God with a view of converting them to his side for destruction in hell fire. The Devil will fight tooth and nail to prevent unbelievers from repentance at the same time setting the fowlers to preach heresies to make them apostates. God’s will is that all the human beings He has created should be save through Jesus Christ, but the Devil is fighting at all costs to derail people from doing the will of God, so that, they will go to hell fire.
This message is sounding a warning against the traps of the fowlers. Fowlers are false preachers who hunt for whom to deceive into hell fire through their devilish doctrine. They profess Christianity, but deny the power of redemption through the blood of Jesus Christ. Through their antics, the Devil is turning as many people as possible away from God and leading them to hell fire. That is why the Bible is lamenting in 2Timothy 3:1-5, crying thus:“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2: For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy. 3: Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good. 4: Traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. 5: Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
The denial of the power thereof is the characteristics of the apostates. The apostates are the people who were in faith, but later rejected it. In summary, apostasy is falling away. It is the act of professed Christian who deliberately rejects the revealed truth as to:
(a) the Deity of Jesus Christ.
(b) redemption through the atoning of Jesus Christ and redeeming sacrifice.
Apostasy differs from error concerning truth, which may be the result of ignorance or heresy, which may be as snare of the Satan, but both may exist with true faith. The apostates depart from the faith, but not from the outward profession of Christianity.
The Devil through the fowlers use all these to draw Christians away from God and the benefits of making heaven hereafter. We should be very careful about their antics.
Again, in the lead scripture the Devil employed false teachers who preach heresies to deceive even the very elect. The heretic messages will result into people becoming trucebreakers, incontinent, false accusers and despisers of the people that are good Christians. God is telling us to turn away from such people and their teachings. We should tenaciously hold onto the truth, as only the truth shall set any individual free as the Bible confirms in John 8:32 saying: “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Since only the truth can make one free, we should at all times stand for the truth.
It should be noted again that Matthew 7:20-23 says:“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21: Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father, which is in heaven. 22: Many will say to me in that day; Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? 23: And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
The truth has to be told to ensure that the people who are obedient to the word of God do not follow the wrong teaching that will lead them astray and make them go to hell fire. They should be aware of the false prophets who the Bible described as workers of iniquity, but whoever they deceive, though the victim may be ignorant, but he or she must go to hell fire. By their fruits, therefore, they are known. Their preaching need to be properly reviewed to ensure that they profess Jesus Christ and the redemption power of His blood shed on the Cross of Calvary.
The fact is, because these false prophets and teachers do not have what it takes to convert a soul through the power of God, they resort to enticing words and the use of material things such as money, houses, scholarship to the children of the converts and all other material things as a bait to continue to enslave them. The essence of Christianity is to be in heaven and stay with our Lord Jesus Christ forever. Anything short of this, is effort in futility and wasted journey on this planet earth. The fowlers are agents of the Devil hunting for whom to deceive; in some cases, the Bible describes them as demons possessed. The demons are spirits or Satan’s emissaries and they are so numerous to make the power of Satan practically ubiquitous. The Christians who are heaven-conscious should be very careful not to be carried away or deceived by their antics. The wealth of this world is good to keep body and soul together only here on earth, but they have no relevance after life on earth.
Material things should, therefore, not take the place of the spiritual food, which is the true word of God that will lead one to heaven. The Bible is emphatic when it asks what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul. Or what shall he give in exchange of his soul? The soul is of God and is going back to its owner if it lives according to the will of the maker, but if it derails for any reason, hell fire becomes its final destination. The snares of the fowlers are designed by the Devil and his agents to stop people from going to heaven. The Devil knows he will never enter into heaven again; so, he is making every effort to prevent as many people as he can from entering heaven. The reason for this message is for people to be aware of the Devil’s plan and not to fall victim to his antics. Hosea 4:6 says: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”
The plan of God is that His children should be knowledgeable of the antics of the Devil and God’s plan to deliver His people from the bondage of the Devil. Do not fall victim of the enticement with material things, which has no futuristic value. Our Lord Jesus Christ has gone to prepare a place in heaven; He is coming back to take us to be with Him forever in heaven where the houses and even the streets are made with gold. One who allows himself to be deceived by the snares of the fowlers will not make heaven. Our focus remains heaven and nothing will separate us from the love of God and from making heaven. Until the feat is achieved, we shall not rest, in Jesus’ name.

Confront Chosen, Face The Wrath Of God
OUR Sister,Nkechi Paul, joined The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries in 2003 and worships in Idioroh. She is grateful to God for making her a member of this ministry. In her testimony, our Sister said in her dream onone particular Monday, she heard a deafening noise that made her come out of her house in the dream to inquire the cause of the noise, but saw nothing. The next day being Tuesday, shesaid shewent to work, but when she got to a certain point, she heard the exactnoise she heard in her dream and people gathered at the spot the noise came from. When she got there to see what was happening, she saw a boy lying dead; it was a fatal accident.
According to her, she said:“I looked around there were a lot of onlookers and I did not know what to do. Just then,my spirit said, ‘you usually see yourself in the dream praying for sick people and they will be healed, now do it.’”
Our sister narrated that she pleaded with the people at the scene of the accident to help her raise the boy’s head, but they hesitated, saying that the boy was already dead. Reluctantly, a few of them helped to raised the boy up.
In her word:“So, I pulled out my apron and wore it on dead body and shouted;‘I am a Chosen three times and said God of my pastor where are you? Come and prove the word of your servant. Immediately, the dead boy came back to life.’” P-r-a-i-s-e, the Lord!
Everybody there,according to our sister, began to look at her. She said one of them summoned courage and asked what she put in the apron that made the dead boy to come back to life.She replied, ‘our General Overseer had anointed the apron for signs and wonders.’
Sister Paul said: “Because of the miracle that happened that day, a sister that witnessed it, came to the church and became a member. P-r-a-i-s-e, the Lord!
“Moreover, in my compound there were these three cult boys, my prayer usually disturbs them, and when it comes to evangelism, I don’t play with it. Their leader came to me and said that l will run away from the compound that since l came to the compound, all what he has beendoing have been scattering. I did not reply his threat, rather, l went inside my room and prayed to God to prove His power to them and for them to quitthe compound. One fateful day, I went to work and on my arrival from work in the evening, other neighbours came to tell me what transpired in the compound in my absence.
According to them, people from the street gathered in our compound to hear the confession of the three cult boys. They said that they went to Ibadan to prepare charm against me, so that, I will pack out of the compound and on their way, around 12midnight, three men accosted them on the way and beat them to a state of stupor.
They returned half dead and told the street people that the Lord’s Chosen General Overseer sent three hefty men to beat them up. After hearing my neighbours, I told them that the three boys must pack out of the compound; since then, I have not seen them in the compound. God of Chosen is great. P-r-a-i-s-e, the Lord!”
Our sister’s prayer for our General Overseer is that God will take him from glory to glory and grant him eternal rest in heaven at the end of this life in Jesus’ name… Amen!
