THE Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church (ESOCS) Worldwide has ended its ninth edition of the church’s retreat.
The three-day event held for members of its Advisory Board with the theme: “Cherubim And Seraphim Centenary Celebration Appraisal: What Next?” took place at Protea Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, from February 5 to 7, 2026.
Declaring the retreat open, the Prelate of ESOCS Church Worldwide, His Most Eminence, David Bob-Manuel, said the retreat was designed to provide a platform for Advisory Board members to deliberate on strategies for sustaining continuous quality improvement in the management and leadership of the church.
He urged participants to ensure the church embraces renewed and deliberate efforts to pursue the original tenets of the church, adding that the vision of the church in the last 100 years is evangelism.
“The vision that drove the church in the last 100 years is evangelism around Africa in general and Nigeria in particular, to the spiritual way of worship, which is devoid of all the devilish practices and sacrifices with uncompromised faith in the Holy Bible and God’s word and in salvation through Jesus Christ and in the trinity in unity. This is the foundation that Christ laid for us through the Founder, St Moses OrimoladeTunolase and there is no other foundation laid except the one laid by Jesus Christ,” he said.
Appreciating members of the board for their contributions to the growth and success of the church over the years, secretary of the Holy Order, His Eminence, I. U. Omoike, noted that the retreat was intentional and highly beneficial.
According to him: “Treats are designed to remove top leaders from daily work pressure, which will allow them to focus on strategic planning, long-term visioning and strengthening inter-personal relationship.”
Elder Omoike stressed that retreats are meant, “to foster innovations and align leaders with church values to provide necessary things that boost morale, trust, mental wellbeing and rejuvenation.”
Earlier, in his welcome address, His Eminence, DereOtubu, disclosed that the retreat was structured to enable the board appraise the centenary celebration, assess achievements and shortcomings, review the growth strategy of the church and develop plans for the future.
