Key verse: Luke 7:7: “I am not even worthy to come and meet you. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed,” (NLT).
Anybody who has accomplished anything for God and for himself has always been somebody who heard from God. You cannot come by exceptional achievements if you do not hear from God. David was constantly inquiring of the Lord and at every point in time. David was never afraid to move into the battle because he always inquired and heard from God. Upon hearing the news of Keilah’s plight, David inquired of the Lord, saying: “Shall I go and attack these Philistines?” (1 Samuel 23:2). God’s reply was sure: “Go and attack these Philistines and save Keilah,” (1 Samuel 23:2). With God’s word in hand, David was ready to move into battle and even when his men were afraid to go with him, he inquired of the Lord the second time (1 Samuel 23:4). When you are in doubt of which way to follow, go back to God and get a confirmation from Him.
David said your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my way (Psalm 119:105). He was always receiving direction as God speaks to him. David said, by your words I can see where I am going. Amid confusion, try to hear what God says for He Has something to tell you. He has a suggestion for you and a road map to tell you how to go about it. Whether it is in personal enterprise or kingdom enterprise, we ought to hear from God. God knows tomorrow from today.
He said to Jeremiah, before you were formed in your mother’s womb, I knew you (Jeremiah 1:5). We must take full counsel of God’s word at every point in time. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16).
When Rebekah was pregnant, God said to her in Genesis Chapter 25: “Two male children are in your womb; one will be stronger than the other and the older will serve the younger.” What medical doctors can tell us is about the sexes of the children in the womb, but not the destiny and the future of the children because they are limited. They are not God. God knows your future from the beginning and He knows you even before you were conceived (Psalm 139:4). This is why you will always resort to God before you embark on anything. Do not always depend on your expertise. Expertise is good, but always go back to God and say father: “I do not know it all, tell me how I will go about it” and He will lead you in the right path. It is not every life problem that is simple to handle. You need to hear Him, He Who sits on the throne; you need to hear Him, He Who knows everything about you. You need to hear Him, He Who speaks and the storms of the sea becomes calm.
There is a purpose of God for your life and you need God to unveil it. When God speaks to you, your purpose will be unveiled so that you do not wallow in confusion. You will not pass away like shadows, God will enable you to fulfill destiny; nations are waiting for you to manifest. Friends are also waiting for your manifestation and the land is waiting to hear you. God will speak a word that will enable you fulfill destiny and be a blessing to humanity.
