Text: Philippians 4:8; Numbers 14
Key Verse: Numbers 14:24 “But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.”

There are many things wrong with our world today. But, yes, there are people who find something good in almost every situation, no matter how negative it might be. Positive Attitude is being realistic, realising that in the midst of all the negatives, there is still much that is good in the world, in the church, and in our lives. And we need to focus our attention and energy on what is good.

Listen to Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:8, He says, “…whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, praiseworthy…” “You think about those things.” That’s positive! One of the major causes of people living a negative lifestyle is what they feed their souls with. In Computer Science, it is said, “Garbage in, garbage out” meaning nonsense input data produces nonsense output or “garbage.”

What you store inside of you is very important because that is what you will reproduce after. Feed on God’s Word daily and you shall reproduce a life of faith. Your attitude determines your altitude. You cannot live above the Word of God stored inside of you. People who feed themselves with God’s Word speak faith in times of trouble, but the reverse is the case for people who feed themselves with negative things.

God commended Caleb in Numbers 14:24, one of the two positive spies for having a positive spirit in him. God described him as “My Servant,” why? Because he was seeing things like God would do. The 10 Negative Spies were whining about armies, giants and other obstacles they will face, but Joshua and Caleb were seeing how mighty they are through God. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 10:4, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.”

What you see is what you will get. Find time and meditate on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy. These are the characteristics of people with positive attitude. What is the first word that comes out of your mouth when catastrophe strikes, positive or negative word?

Solomon said, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7 KJV). So the things that dominate your thinking, those things control the words you speak, the attitudes you have, and the way you react to others.

The main attitude problems that the people of Israel had were murmuring and complaining. Sadly, many Believers have a negative attitude of murmuring and complaining all the time instead of boldly declaring what God Had spoken concerning their situation.

“Abraham,” means “father of many nations” (Genesis 17:5). Abraham called himself Abraham even when he has no child. Abraham’s reality says he has no child, but Abraham continued to put the Word of God in his mouth – father of many nations. Romans 4:20, “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.”

Call yourself what God Has called you. It may seem ridiculous to call yourself what God Has called you. If you want to see the supernatural power of God, you must say what God says to you not minding the contradicting realities.

Proverbs 12:13a, says, “The wicked is ensnared by the transgression of his lips.” To be “ensnared” is to be trapped. How do you fall into the trap? By the transgression of your lips (words). If you say, “Life is hard,” you have transgressed and set a trap for yourself and not the devil.

When God establishes a path (His spoken word), your duty is continue to boldly say what God Has said. Proverbs 12:14a, says, “A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth.” What is the fruit of mouth? Words. Your words can either trap or satisfy you.

Positive Attitude is a Speaking Faith and it is simply saying what God Has said and not the contrary. Job said in Job 19:25, “I Know that My Redeemer liveth” – that is a positive attitude mindset.

As the year comes to a close, keep declaring the promises of God and not defeat.Today’s Nugget: Think on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy.Prayer: Lord, help me to live a Positive Attitude Lifestyle.
