Courage is boldness in the presence of fear. Boldness is not absence of fear. We have some fear inside of us. Courage is stepping out even amid of our fears. It is doing what must be done, in spite of raging fears. Courage is expressed through the words of your mouth. Courageous people speak out of courage. Goliath told David when he entered the battle field in a war between the Philistines and Israel that he will kill him and give his flesh to the birds of the air and to the beasts of the field (1 Samuel 17:44). David responded and said to Goliath: “This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel,” (1 Samuel 17:46). That was a courageous man speaking in the face of a challenge. Courage is bold speaking in the face of a daring challenge. Courage is the ability to stand up for what is right in the face of intimidation without changing your position or compromising.
You will not emerge a winner until courage is in place. The difference between David and his brothers at the battle field is the heart. One thing David had that his three elder brothers that followed Saul to battle did not have is courage. Remember when David came to the battlefield to see his brothers, Eliab his eldest brother said to him, “What are you doing around here? (1 Samuel 17:28).”
Those who have lion heart will get lion’s share. Courage, bravery and strength are necessary to achieve great feat or success. If you stay and say you don’t want to risk anything, you are already at risk. Sometimes you may lose money. What happens to so many people is this, once they have one bad experience, it shuts down everything else. So they just don’t want to try something new. You can’t prosper like that. You have to try again. The person that did not dare and the person that dared and failed, they are not the same people.
Peter and the other disciples are not the same people. If they ask, has anyone ever walked on water, Peter will raise his hands, but the other disciples will not raise their hands. He has tasted what they never tasted, they are two different people.
Financially, dare it. The worst that can happen is that you lose money, but you didn’t lose your life. At least now you know how to build the business next time.
Courage has nothing to do with your size. Goliath was nine feet nine inches tall, but a small boy, David, confronted and defeated him (1 Samuel 17:4). Saul said to David: “Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him:

For thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth,” (1 Samuel 17:33). Saul was looking at David’s size, but courage has nothing to do with your size, but your heart. You can be big and fearful; you can also be tiny, yet courageous. David replied Saul and said: “Let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine,” (1 Samuel 17:32). Courage gives you the strength to do what others say you can’t do.
