IT is unbelievable to learn that a New York-based Satanist group has announced the proposed unveiling of its sculpted ‘homage to Satan,’ which it seeks to place next to a 10 Commandments monument on the grounds of the Oklahoma State capitol building. The group recently announced that the statue, which features the goat-headed figure Baphomet making the sign for the occult, as he sits upon a throne with a pentagram overhead and children with fixed eyes on him on both sides, was nearing completion. It also said that the statue would serve as a beacon calling for compassion and empathy among all living creatures.

The statue will also have “a functional purpose chair, where people of all ages may sit on the lap of Satan for inspiration and contemplation.” They have already invited supporters to “dress to impress the Devil” and “come dance with [him] and experience history in the making” on the day the statue will be unveiled. A Baphomet, as you know, is a goat-headed figure and a sign found in occultism. The symbol is associated with anything relating to occultism, ritual magic, witchcraft, Satanism and esoteric. This is exactly what these guys want to place near the Ten Commandments given to Israel by God, the Creator of all things. Unfortunately, all these are happening in a country that has God as the foundation, His word in its constitution and has done so much (I mean so much) to take the gospel to other nations of the world. Their Supreme Court recently legalised same-sex marriage. What a paradox!

But who is this Satan that is behind this worship and perversion? He was once a very beautiful angel that stood in the presence of God the Almighty.  Unfortunately, he treacherously deceived some other angels to rebel against their Maker. Yes, he is the father of treachery and rebellion. He wanted to rise above his Maker. He wanted to be worshipped. But has this changed today? No! He still inordinately craves to be worshipped. He told Jesus in the wilderness to bow before him, if He wishes to receive the whole world and its glory. But Jesus promptly rebuked the fool and told him that it is only God that is worthy of our worship. Now, as a result of this sin, Satan and his rebellious gang of angels were expelled from heaven. As I write, some of his extremely dangerous co-fallen angels, according to the book of Jude, are still chained until the Day of Judgement. But the evil one, the master deceiver is still going about luring more people into disobedience and eternal condemnation.

Look at the calamity he brought upon Adam and Eve and its consequence on the whole world. He deceived them into eating the forbidden fruit and now the entire human race is still paying for it. All the atrocities you see in the world came into being through that singular deception by Satan the devil. Satan is another name for Lucifer the devil. It represents evil, wickedness, lies, treachery, rebellion, deceit, disobedience, darkness, insubordination, immorality, lies, death, corruption, destruction and every other thing that works against man and God’s creation. But thank God the residents of the great Oklahoma including Representative Don Armes have described the project as offensive. I love how the Rep put it: “I think you’ve got to remember where you are. This is Oklahoma, the middle of the heartland. I think we need to be tolerant of people, who think different than us. But this is Oklahoma, and that’s not going to fly here.”  We call on all Christians to pray against this proposed homage to evil!
