Bible Passage: Exodus 15:1-18
We pointed out in our previous Sunday school teaching that exuberant and lively high praise brings down the presence and glory of God. There is really no alternative. The joy of the Lord is indeed our strength. Let everything within you bless His holy name. When this happens during great persecution, trial or difficulty, the forces of darkness are thoroughly confused, paralysed and disoriented. The Lord will arise and His enemies will be scattered, bonds are broken and there is deliverance.
The Lord is so passionate about His relationship with man that He looks forward to every opportunity to fellowship and enjoy deep communion with us. When the first man, Adam failed to show up for his appointment with God, God asked, where are you? God visits man ever so frequently -Job 7:18-19. Ps. 59:16; Ps. 134:1; Ps. 104:33. The very least man should do is respond in like manner. A lifestyle of praise is not only doable, but also desirable and crucial.
In All Circumstances
Children of God will not suffer shame, anxiety, failure or confusion. In all things, God commands the work of His hands to praise Him – 1 Thess. 5:18. Whether in fire or deep waters, God promised to be with His own – Is. 43:1-3. He is there in famine, persecution, imprisonment, poverty, loss and fiery trials, – 2 Cor. 6:10; 1 Pet. 4:12-13; Jn. 16:33.
The best high praise on earth is nothing compared to what is happening in heaven. Time stands still and ceases to be a factor and loses all relevance in eternity.
The heavenly language is praise and worship forever. This is what the angels do in Heaven, as they worship the Ancient of Days, the Holy One in His majesty and glory, Lk. 2:13-14; Rev. 5:11-12; Rev. 7:11-12. When saints get to Heaven and experience full restoration, they shall sing new songs of praise to the Rock of salvation – Rev. 19:1-7.
Why do you not bring a bit of Heaven to earth right away?
God knows everything you are going through now and why and for how long. Rejoice in nothing, but in the settled assurance that in all things, you will laugh last, if you endure till the end. Praise and worship is the high way to permanent victory and victorious living. In war and peace, it will serve you well. Rejoice evermore in the Lord Jesus. His praise will never depart from your mouth in the mighty name of Jesus.
