The tongue is one of the smallest organs of the body God created for man. God created it for a purpose and not for careless conversations. The tongue is good organ of the body when the owner puts it to good use. Christians should be wary of the way, they use their tongues. Aaron and Miriam lost their places in the Lord because of the wrong use of their tongues. Ordinarily, as believers, not everything that happened in the church should be a topic of discussion and gossip.

God is dynamic and his ways and moves, most times, are strange and past finding. Man is limited in knowledge to understand the nitty-gritty of God’s movement in the church. Unfortunately, some believers have become familiar with God like the children of Israel. Familiarity is a weapon in the hand of the devil and he uses it to stir up man against God. The children of Israel were destroyed because of familiarity with the Ark of God. One of them, Uzzar, even went to the extent of trying to help God and perished instantly.

Obviously, familiarity with God gave birth to careless talks and conversations and those who give room to careless conversations and backbiting will definitely reap the fruit. Lying tongue, gossip and backbiting, which are products of careless conversations, are deadly; they are killers. These ugly elements are capable of turning a child of God to a child of the devil. They rob believers of their righteousness and purity. A person, who does not have control over his tongue, is not a Christian.

God is deep, which is why no man ever graduate from the School of God. Carefulness and caution are required, so that, things meant for our good will not destroy us. Moses, one of the greatest prophets, was never familiar with God neither did he undermine God. Instructively, believers should guide themselves with the scriptures each time. Be moderate in your speech; let it be in line with the scriptures. Also, put your tongue under control. Anybody that hears from God must be careful to act.

As a child of God, be cautious and careful with your actions. Be careful of the people you relate with to avoid falling into the traps of the devil. Don’t speak to please any man; keep the gate of your mouth shut. Ensure you make a decisive decision never to speak unverifiable words.

Eternity is near and it does not have a second chance. Therefore, don’t allow any organ of your body to control your righteousness. The gossips are strange fire in the church, but their fire won’t last! The church is so dear to God and no one can fathom the love of God for His church; it is not a no man’s land. It is a place where God displays His holiness and whosoever tramples on it, God will answer.
Guide your tongue and go for things that count in eternity.
