The Progressive Stages Of Faith In God

WE get to know God through His words, His ways and act. “God, Who at sundry times and in divers manners, spake in the time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, Who He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds; Who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purge our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.” Hebrew 1:1-3. Individuals that encountered God had an exclusive knowledge of Him. At one point, Moses and the Children of Israel knew Him as a mighty deliverer, Who did many miracles to set them free. The Egyptians also came to know God of the Hebrew as mighty Warrior; the one that fights for His people. Abraham knew Him as a covenant keeping God and a great provider. Others encounter (Lazarus, Mary and Martha, widow of Nain and his son) with Jesus during His earthly ministry reveal Him to be the resurrection and life. He has power to forgive sins, justifies (the adulterous woman brought to him and healed the paralysed man). What about Zacchaeus the Jewish tax collector? Some also learnt of Him as a miracle worker, healer and compassionate Saviour. If you have truly met with Jesus, He will teach you many things about His Father and His doctrine. (Matthew 11: 28-30).

An encounter and knowledge of God is expected to ultimately result in strong believe in Him. All the miracles from God have their purpose rooted in bringing glory to God the Father, make people believe in Him and the Son of God. It is expedient for anybody who had gone through the three stages mentioned above to go about telling others about Jesus. The encounter must have done one major thing in your life such that you are able to see you inadequacies, limitations and sinfulness. On the other hand, you will see the awesomeness and unlimited power of God, His grace, love and judgment.

The fourth stage is the phase of witnessing Him to people. You are to share and spread the good news among others. This automatically turns you to a change agent that increases the kingdom of God; rescuing people from satanic bondage and liberating them to know and serve the living God.

As for you, spiritual gifts will be bestowed on you. As you continue working for God’s kingdom, your life becomes important to Him; He secures you and all that belongs to you. The Samaritan woman met with Jesus at the well and she went about broadcasting her experience to others. The woman persuaded them to believe in Jesus. She acted as an evangelist, going out to tell people about Jesus, and bringing them to Him.

‘Many Samaritans from that city believed in Him because of the woman’s testimony “He told me everything I have ever done”. So, when the Samaritans came to Him, they asked Him to stay with them, and He stayed there two days.’ John 4: 39-42. How far have you gone in your faith life in God? What level are you right now? Make use of every encounter you have with God work for you. It is an opportunity to start you faith walk.
